NEE GOOG Google and NextEra Energy will restart the Duane Arnold Energy Center in Palo, Iowa, closed in 2020, targeting a 2029 reopening. The plant will provide round-the-clock nuclear power for Google’s AI and cloud operations, create over 1,600 construction and permanent jobs, and contribute $340 million annually to Iowa’s economy. The initiative builds on Google’s ongoing $7 billion investment in the state to support clean energy and technological infrastructure.
