SOXX semiconductor stocks are the YTD winners, with IGV software stocks, and XLK megacap technology close behind. TAN solar and KRE regional banks are the worst YTD performers.
On the 1-month timeframe, EUFN European financials stocks are the only green group.
On the 1-week timeframe, XLK Technology, IGV Software, and SOXX Semiconductors led the market action last week. These are the same groups that are leading YTD! In the 4th quarter of the year, investment managers often feel pressured to chase what has worked, as it is always good to show clients that you participated in the strongest groups. I expect that this year will be no different!
